About Premiere Dance Company

“The Premiere Dance Company strives to provide quality training and expand the dance education for young dancers. At PDC we create a positive learning and social environment in a setting where dancers can explore dance as a career option. We encourage involvement in the Helena community including the schools where dancers serve as role models. We promote & share the art of dance as a service to the community. We perform benefit performances and provide free tickets to area non-profit organizations.”

The Premiere Dance Company is a non-profit 501c(3) organization that seeks to bring the joy and beauty of the art of dance to the Helena area community. Incorporated in September of 1987, the organization is governed by a Board of Directors comprised of community members and is supported by hundreds of volunteers. Income earned by the company is used to award scholarships for dance study and to enhance and promote performing arts in the community. Helena area dancers ages 13 to 18 (ages outside this range may be allowed by invitation only) audition for the company each spring. They are evaluated based on their skills in the disciplines of ballet, jazz, modern, and dance theatre. Adjudication is conducted by the artistic director and a panel of judges. Members must agree to a strict code of conduct and are expected to maintain high academic standards.

With assistance granted to the dancers throughout the history of the company, in the last three years, over $20,000 has been offered to company members for continued dance study programs throughout the U.S.
